B Rs.21400 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Rs.13200 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Rs.25100 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    ATQ, Let the income be Rs. '100n'   Amount spent on house rent = 0.15 × 100n = Rs. '15n'   Remaining income = 100n - 15n = Rs. '85n'   Amount spent on groceries = 0.30 × 85n = Rs. '25.5n'   Remaining income = 85n - 25.5n = Rs. '59.5n'   Amount spent on education = 0.40 × 59.5n = Rs. '23.8n'   Remaining income = 59.5n - 23.8n = Rs. '35.7n'   Savings = (7/10) × 35.7n = '24.99n'   So, 24.99n = 12,000   Or, 'n' = 480   Required amount = 23.8 × 480 = Rs. 11,424
