      B Rs. 25500 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      C Rs. 20000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      D Rs. 30000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      E Rs. 35000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      Let the monthly salary of A be Rs. ‘x’ Amount spent on food = Rs. 0.20x Amount spent on rent = Rs. 0.25x Amount received by brother = (x – 0.20x – 0.25x) × 0.30 = 0.165x So according to question: => 0.25x – 0.165x = 8500 => 0.085x = 8500 => x = 100000 So, the amount spent on food = 0.20 × 100000 = Rs. 20000
