After 3 months, C joined with Rs. ‘x’. If A’s share in the total annual profit of Rs. 2800 is Rs. 700, find the value of ‘x’.
A Rs.5000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Rs.6400 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Rs.6600 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Rs.7200 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      Ratio of investments A : B : C = 3200 : 4800 : x Ratio of profit share A : B : C = (3200 × 12) : (4800 × 12) : (x × 9) = 38400 : 57600 : 9x So, 38400/(38400+57600+9x) = 700/2800 = 1/4 ⇒ 38400 / (96000 + 9x) = 1/4 ⇒ 4 × 38400 = 96000 + 9x ⇒ 153600 = 96000 + 9x ⇒ 9x = 57600 ⇒ x = 6400
