A invests Rs. 4000 for 12 months → 4000 × 12 = 48000 B invests Rs. 6000 for 4 months, then Rs. 3600 for 8 months (6000 × 4) + (3600 × 8) = 24000 + 28800 = 52800 Ratio of profit = A : B = 48000 : 52800 = 10 : 11 A's profit is Rs. 2000 → (10/21) × Total Profit = 2000 Total Profit = (2000 × 21) / 10 = Rs.4200
