Question
Two partners A and B invested Rs. 900 and Rs. ‘m’
respectively in a business. B withdrew after 6 months. If A got Rs. 3600 from a total yearly profit of Rs. 5400, find the value of ‘m’.Solution
ATQ,
Investment ratio = 900 : m
Profit ratio = (900 × 12) : (m × 6) = 10800 : 6m = 1800 : m
(1800 / (1800 + m)) × 5400 = 3600
(1800 / (1800 + m)) = 2 / 3
1800 × 3 = 2(1800 + m)
5400 = 3600 + 2m
2m = 1800
m = 900
So, the value of ‘m’ is Rs. 900
