Question
Shyam and Tarun invested Rs. 1800 and Rs. 2700 respectively
in a business. After 6 months, Dinesh joined with Rs. ‘x’. If Shyam’s share from a total annual profit of Rs. 1600 is Rs. 400, then what is the value of ‘x’?Solution
ATQ,
Investment ratio = 1800 : 2700 : x
Profit share = (1800 × 12) : (2700 × 12) : (x × 6)= 21600 : 32400 : 6x= 3600 : 5400 : x
Now,
[3600 / (3600 + 5400 + x)] = 400 / 1600
=> 9000 + x = 14400
=> x = 5400
So, the value of ‘x’ is Rs. 5400
