Question
Priya and Anjali began a partnership investing Rs. 2000 and
Rs. 3000 respectively. After 6 months, Neha joined them with Rs. βxβ. If Priya gets Rs. 500 as profit out of Rs. 1500, find the value of βxβ.Solution
ATQ,
Investment ratio = 2000 : 3000 : x
Profit share = (2000 Γ 12) : (3000 Γ 12) : (x Γ 6)= 24000 : 36000 : 6x= 4000 : 6000 : x
Now,
[4000 / (4000 + 6000 + x)] = 500 / 1500
10000 + x = 12000
x = 2000
So, the value of βxβ is Rs. 2000
