Question
A started a retail business by investing Rs.30,000. After four months B joined him with a capital of Rs.60,000. After 2 years, they earned a profit of Rs.12,400. What was the A’s share in the profit?
Solution
Ratio of the capital invested by A and B = (30000 × 24):(60000 × 20) ⇒  3 : 5 Therefore, A’s share = 12400 x (3/8) = Rs.4650
