    Question

β€˜A’ and β€˜B’ started a business by investing

certain sum in the ratio 10:11, respectively for 6 years. If 37% of the total profit is donated in an orphanage and A’s share is Rs. 1800, then find the total profit generated from the business.
A Rs. 6000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Rs. 6500 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Rs. 6900 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Rs. 7000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

Since, β€˜A’ and β€˜B’ invested their sums for equal period, therefore, ratio of the profit received by β€˜A’ and β€˜B’ will be equal to the ratio of sum invested by them i.e. 10:11, respectively Let the total profit received by them be Rs. 100x Therefore, profit distributed between β€˜A’ and β€˜B’ = 0.63 Γ— 100x = Rs. 63x Profit received by β€˜A’ = 63x Γ— (10/21) = Rs. 30x According to the question, 30x = 1800 Or, x = 60 Therefore, total profit received by β€˜A’ and β€˜B’ = 100x = Rs. 6000
