Question
Deepak’s monthly income is Rs. 55000. He spent Rs. 25000 less than what he saved. Calculate the percentage of income he spent.
Solution
ATQ,
Let the amount saved by Deepak = Rs. Y
Then, amount spent by Deepak = Rs. (Y - 25000)
We have, Y + Y - 25000 = 55000
Or, Y = (55000 + 25000) ÷ 2 = Rs. 40000
So, amount spent by Deepak = 40000 - 25000 = Rs. 15000
Required percentage = (15000 / 55000) × 100 = 27.27%
