A mixture contains 45 ml water and rest ‘x’ ml milk.
When 0.3x ml of water is added, the water becomes 3/7th of the mixture. Find the value of ‘x’.Solution
According to the question,
Quantity of water after addition of 0.3x ml water = (45 + 0.3x)
Total quantity of the mixture = 45 + 0.3x + x = (45 + 1.3x)
Therefore,
(3/7)(45 + 1.3x) = (45 + 0.3x)
Or, 135 + 3.9x = 315 + 2.1x
Or, 1.8x = 180
Or, x = 100
