and water in the ratio 3:2. 40 litres of this solution is taken out, and then 10 litres of water is added. What is the new ratio of water to milk?Solution
ATQ,
Initial quantity of milk = (3/5) × 80 = 48 litres
Initial quantity of water = (2/5) × 80 = 32 litres
Final quantity of milk = 48 - (3/5) × 40 = 24 litres
Final quantity of water = 32 - (2/5) × 40 + 10 = 26 litres
Required ratio = 26 : 24 = 13 : 12
