    Solution

    Area of the inner rectangle = 21 m × 26 m = 546 m 2 Width of outer road = 5 m So length of outer rectangle = 21 + 10 = 31 m & breadth of outer rectangle = 26 + 10 = 36 m Area of Path = Area of outer rectangle – Area of inner rectangle = 31 × 36 – 21 × 26 = 1116 – 546 = 570 m 2
