Question
Find the difference between the area of circular land having diameter 28 metres and the area of a rectangular piece of land with length and breadth of 18 metres and 14 metres respectively.
Solution
Radius of the circular land = (diameter/2) = (28/2) metres Area of the circular land = π X radius² = π x (28/2)² = (22/7) x (14)² = 616 m² Area of the rectangular land = 18 x 14 = 252 m² So, required difference = 616 – 252 = 364 m²
