    Question

    Circumference of one of the bases of a right circular

    cylinder is 176 cm. If height of the cylinder is 4 cm more than its radius, then find the volume (in cm³) of the cylinder. (Use π = 22/7)
    A 76,032 cm³ Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    B 78,848 cm³ Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C 80,640 cm³ Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D 82,176 cm³ Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    E 84,000 cm³ Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Circumference of base of cylinder = 2 × π × radius So,
    2 × (22/7) × radius = 176 Or,
    radius = 28 cm Height of the cylinder = 28 + 4 = 32 cm Therefore,
    Volume of cylinder = π × radius² × height = (22/7) × 28² × 32
    = 78,848 cm³
