Question
The side of a cube is 4m more than the side of a square.
If the ratio of lateral surface area of the cube and the area of the square is 9:1, then what will be the volume of the cube.Solution
ATQ,
Let the side of the square = x. The side of the cube = x+4. Lateral Surface Area (LSA) of the cube = (x+4)2 Area of the square = x2. Ratio of LSA to square area is 9:1 = On solving we will get:-
Side of the cube = x+4 = 12. Volume of the cube = 123 = 1728 m3.
Hence, the volume of the cube is 1728 m3.
