The ratio of length and breadth of a rectangular field is 5:3. If the total cost of surrounding it at the rate of Rs 7.50 per meter is Rs 3000, then find the difference between the length and breadth of the field.
Solution
The ratio of length and breadth = 5:3 Length of field = 5x and breadth = 3x Then perimeter of field = 2(5x+3x) = 16x ATQ- 16x × 7.50 = 3000 16x = 3000/7.50=400 x = 25 Now difference between length and breadth =2×25 = 50 meters
