    Let the breadth of the land = ‘b’ metres Then, perimeter of the land = 2 × (24 + b) Or, 2 × (24 + b) = 55 Or, 48 + 2b = 55 Or, 2b = 55 – 48 = 7 So, b = 7/2 = 3.5 And so, total area of the land = 24 × 3.5 = 84 m2 So, area of each of the 4 equal portions = 84 ÷ 4 = 21 m2
