    If tan A = √5 – 2 then the value of cot A = 1/tan A = 1/√5 – 2 Now rationalising, => cot A = (1/√5 – 2) x [(√5 + 2)/(√5 + 2)] => cot A = √5 + 2 So, tan A - cot A = (√5 – 2) - (√5 + 2) = -4
