    Question

The sum of two numbers is 65 and their HCF is 13. Total

number of such pairs of numbers is?
A 2 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 3 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 1 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 4 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    As HCF is 13 so let numbers be 13x & 13y. It means x & y must be co-prime. Now 13x+ 13y = 65, So x + y = 5. Now pairs of (x , y) can be (1,4) , (2,3) and all are co-prime so number of pairs are 2.
