The length of a width is 20 cm and the side of a square
is 24 cm less than the length and width of the rectangle. If perimeter of the rectangle is 30 cm more than the perimeter of the square, then find the diagonal of the square.Solution
Let the length of the rectangle be ‘x’ cm. And side of the square = [(x + 20) – 24] = (x – 4) cm According to the question, => 2(x + 20) – 4(x - 4) = 30 => 2x + 40 – 4x + 16 = 30 => 2x = 26 => x = 13 Side of the square = (x – 4) = 9 Diagonal of square = 9√2 cm
