Read the following data carefully and answer the given questions: The table given below shows the total number of fruits (Apples + Oranges) sold, percentage of number of fruits unsold and ratio of Apples and Oranges sold by five different fruit sellers.

Find the difference between the number of Oranges sold by E and number of Apples sold by B.

Solution

Total number of fruits sold by E = [550 – (24% of 550)] = 418 Number of Oranges sold by E = 418 x 8/11 = 304 Total number of fruits sold by B = [800 – (30% of 800)] = 560 Number of Apples sold by B = 560 x 3/8 = 210 Required difference = 304 – 210 = 94
