average of 'r' and 's' is 24, average of 's' and 't' is 18 and average of 'r' and 't' is 18. Find the average of 'r', 's' and 't'.Solution
r + s = 2 × 24
Or, r + s = 48 -------- (I)
s + t = 2 × 18
Or, s + t = 36 -------- (II)
r + t = 2 × 18
Or, r + t = 36 -------- (III)
On adding equations I, II and III,
We get, r + s + s + t + r + t = 48 + 36 + 36
Or, 2 × (r + s + t) = 120
Or, r + s + t = 60
Therefore, required average = (60/3) = 20
