Let male and female players be '4a' and 'a', respectively.
Total score of the team = 5a × (x + 1) = 5ax + 5a
Total score of male players = 4a × (x + 2) = 4ax + 8a
So, total score of female players = (5ax + 5a) − (4ax + 8a) = ax − 3a
Therefore, average score of female players = (ax − 3a) / a = (x − 3)
