The average of two numbers ‘M’ and ‘N’ is 250

such that they are in the ratio 2:3 respectively. Another number ‘O’ is 120 more than ‘N’ and fourth number ‘P’ is 20% of the ‘M’. Find the average of ‘O’ and ‘P’.
A 225 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 230 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 235 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 240 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Sum of ‘M’ and ‘N’ = 250 × 2 = 500
    Therefore,
    ‘M’ = 500 × (2/5) = 200
    ‘N’ = 500 – 200 = 300
    ‘O’ = 300 + 120 = 420
    ‘P’ = 0.2 × 200 = 40
    Required average = {(420 + 40)/2} = 230
