Question
Average of first 4 numbers is 1.5 times the average of
the next 2 numbers. If the average of all 6 numbers is 30, find the sum of the last 2 numbers.Solution
Let the sum of the last 2 numbers be 'n'.
(sum of first 4 numbers) ÷ 4 = 1.5 × (n/2)
⇒ sum of first 4 numbers = 3n
Total sum = 3n + n = 4n
Average = (4n)/6 = 30
⇒ 4n = 180
⇒ n = 45
