Question
In a team, there are 15 men and 25 women. The average
weight of each man is 70 kg while that of each woman is 60 kg. What is the average weight of a person in the team?Solution
ATQ,
Total weight of all the men in the team = 15 × 70 = 1050 kg
Total weight of all the women in the team = 25 × 60 = 1500 kg
So, total weight of all the persons in the team = 1050 + 1500 = 2550 kg
Total number of persons in the team = 15 + 25 = 40
So, average weight of each person in the team = (2550 / 40) = 63.75 kg
