15 students go for a picnic. 10 of them spent Rs. 60 each on their food and rest spent Rs.4 more than the average expenditure of all 15. What was the total money spent by them?
Solution
Let average expenditure be Rs.x. According to the question, => 15 Γ x = 10 Γ 60 + 5 (x + 4) => 10x = 620 => x = 62 Total expenditure = 62 Γ 15 = Rs.930
