    Sum of ages of A, B and C = 40 × 3 = 120 years Sum of ages of B, A and D = 30 × 3 = 90 years So, C – D = 120 – 90 = 30 years Let the age of C and D be 5x and 3x years, respectively. 5x – 3x = 30 2x = 30 x = 15 So, age of D = 3x = 45 years.
