Let present age of father and son be 9x and 5x respectively. According to question,  => (9x – 3) (5x – 3) = 33 × (5x – 3)  => (9x – 3) = 33 => 9x = 36 => x = 4 Therefore, son’s age 3 years ago = (5x – 3) = 17 years
