Question
The ages of A, B and C are in the ratio 4:5:7 and the
sum of their ages is 80. Find the ratio of 15 years ago B’s age to C’s age after 10 years. TYPE GSolution
Let the present age of A, B and C be 4x, 5x and 7x respectively. According to the question, => A + B + C = 80 => 4x + 5x + 7x = 80 => x = 5 B’s age 15 years ago = 5x – 15 = 25 – 15 = 10 C’s age after 10 years = 7x + 10 = 35 + 10 = 45 Required ratio = 10 : 45 = 2:9
