Under Section 14(1), contracts and working arrangements subsisting immediately before the appointed day and affecting the IAAI or NAA shall, after vesting, be enforceable against the Authority:

Section 14(1) provides that pre-existing contracts, agreements, and working arrangements of the IAAI/NAA cease to be enforceable against those bodies but become enforceable against the Authority AS IF the Authority itself had originally been named in, or been a party to, those contracts - a statutory novation by operation of law, without any requirement for fresh negotiation, written novation, or third-party consent. This ensures business continuity across the merger. Section 14(2) extends the same statutory continuation principle to pending proceedings and causes of action, which may be continued and enforced by or against the Authority exactly as they could have been enforced by or against IAAI/NAA had the Act not been passed.
