Section 4 read with Section 3A of the Public Premises Eviction Act, 1971 prescribes the mode of SERVICE a notice may be served by personal delivery or by post where it cannot be served in that ordinary manner, it may be served by AFFIXING a copy onto a conspicuous part of the premises or of the occupants last known residencebusiness, and such service is deemed to be good service. The statutory deeming provisions ensure that an occupant cannot frustrate eviction by evading the notice. The affixationsubstituted-service mode is a prescribed and valid means of service under the Act.
