The Public Premises (Eviction) Act, 1971 provides a SUMMARY, special procedure for the eviction of UNAUTHORISED OCCUPANTS of public premises: upon notice (Section 4) and considering the occupant's reply, the ESTATE OFFICER may order eviction (Section 5). Such an order is appealable before the DISTRICT JUDGE (Section 9), and the jurisdiction of the civil court is ousted in respect of these evictions (Section 15).
