Section 113(1) of the Code on Social Security, 2020 stipulates that every unorganised worker, gig worker, or platform worker shall be required to be registered for the purposes of Chapter IX (Social Security for Unorganised Workers, Gig Workers, and Platform Workers), subject to fulfilling specified conditions - namely, having completed sixteen years of age, or such age as may be prescribed by the Central Government, and having submitted a self-declaration electronically or otherwise, in the prescribed form and manner.
