Section 44 of the Code on Wages, 2019 deals with the payment of undisbursed wages in the case of the death of an employee or where his whereabouts are not known. Such amounts must be paid to the person nominated by the employee in the prescribed manner. Where no nomination has been made, or where for any reason the amounts cannot be paid to the nominee, they shall be deposited with the prescribed authority, who shall deal with them in the manner prescribed.
