Under the RTI Act, the grounds on which information may be exempt from disclosure are set out in which section?

Section 8 of the Right to Information Act sets out the categories of information that are exempt from disclosure. These include information that would prejudicially affect the sovereignty and integrity of India, information forbidden by a court, information that would breach parliamentary privilege, commercial confidence or trade secrets, information available to a person in a fiduciary relationship, and personal information with no public interest, among others. These exemptions protect important public and private interests against unrestricted disclosure.
