      Portuguese was the first to established the their colony in India and they were also the last to go out from India. Nuno da Cunha: served as the Portuguese governor of India from 1529 to 1538.  He is known for moving the capital of Portuguese India from Cochin to Goa in 1530 AD.  He also acquired Diu and Bassein from Bahadur Shah of Gujarat in 1534 AD.
