Question
What is the main effect of increasing the temperature of
a gas at constant volume? ÂSolution
When the temperature of a gas is increased at constant volume, the kinetic energy of the gas molecules increases.  This leads to more frequent and forceful collisions with the walls of the container.  As a result, the pressure of the gas increases according to Gay Lussac's law.
