Nayara Energy (formerly Essar Oil Limitesigned a Memorandum of Understanding with the Forest and Environment Department of Gujarat to provide financial support for the conservation and restoration of the Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary in Jamnagar district. This sanctuary is designated as a Ramsar Site. The three-year project, valued at Rs 12 crore, aims to enhance the wetland environment, strengthen biodiversity, involve local communities in sanctuary management, promote ecotourism, and develop conservation infrastructure. Nayara Energy also signed a separate MoU with the Vidya Samiksha Kendra to promote literacy initiatives in 1,300 government schools and Anganwadis in Jamnagar and Devbhoomi Dwarka districts.
