Under the Expert Level Mechanism (EL

China and India established the Expert Level Mechanism (ELM) in 2006 to address trans-border river issues. Under this agreement, China provides India with hydrological data on the Brahmaputra (known as Yarlung Zangbu in China) and Sutlej rivers during flood seasons. For the Brahmaputra River, China provides data from three monitoring stations: Nugesha, Yangcun, and Nuxia. This data sharing is crucial for flood forecasting and disaster management in India's northeastern states and Himalayan regions.
