The Constitution of India allots a maximum of 550 seats to the Lok Sabha: 530 for the States and 20 for Union Territories. Currently, the Lok Sabha has 545 members.  Key Points: - Uttar Pradesh holds the maximum seats (80). - 131 seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes (84) and Scheduled Tribes (47). - The 104th Constitutional Amendment Act, 2019 abolished the nomination of 2 Anglo-Indian members, effective January 2020. - The first Lok Sabha was constituted on 17 April 1952. - Members serve for five years or until dissolved by the President on the advice of the council of ministers.
