Rishikesh-Karnprayag Rail Project: The new broad gauge (1676 mm) rail line between Rishikesh and Karnaprayag is a very important development project in the state of Uttarakhand. The proposed railway line will connect 5 important cities like Devprayag, Srinagar, Gauchar and Karnaprayag. The length of this project with a project cost of Rs 16216 crore is 125.20 km, in which 104 km of railway line will be underground. 18 bridges and 17 tunnels are to be constructed under the project.
