Mauritius has become the first African country and the fourth country globally (after Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Cubto sign a Country Partnership Framework with the International Solar Alliance (ISA). This strategic three-year renewable partnership will focus on scaling up solar technologies such as floating solar, rooftop solar, and solar-powered water pumping systems, aligning with Mauritius' national priorities. The International Solar Alliance, launched in 2015 by India and France, is a treaty-based intergovernmental organization headquartered in Gurugram, India, with Ashish Khanna serving as Director General. The ISA aims to promote solar energy as a sustainable solution for energy access and climate change, targeting $1 trillion in solar investments by 2030.
