    of first 3 numbers is 40 and ratio of the 4th and the 5th number is 2:3. If difference between the 4th and the 5th number is 17, then find the average of all the numbers.

    Given, 4th number:5th number = 2:3 Let, 4th number = 2x 5th number = 3x So, 3x – 2x = 17 Or, x = 17 Required average = {(40 + 17 × 2 + 17 × 3)/5} = (125/5) = 25
