      Question

      The perimeter of a rectangle is 100% more than perimeter

      of a square of side 15 cm. If the length of rectangle is 200% more than side of square then find the difference between the area of square and the area of rectangle.
      A 425 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      B 625 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      C 215 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      D 450 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      Perimeter of the square = 4 x 15 = 60 cm Perimeter of the rectangle = 60 x (200/100) = 120 cm Length of the rectangle = 15 x (300/100) = 45 cm Let the breadth of the rectangle be b cm. => 2 x (45 + b) = 120 => b = 60 – 45 => b = 15 cm Required difference = (45 x 15) - (15 x 15) = 450
