A rectangular ground is 70 metre long and 50 metre broad. If two 20 metre wide paths one parallel to the breadth and one parallel to the length, of the ground is to be made inside the ground, then find the total area of the path.
Solution
Area of the path = 20 × 70 + 20 × 50 – 20 × 20 = 1400 + 1000 – 400 = 2000 m2.
