Under the AI infrastructure development plan, the Chennai data centre operated by Larsen & Toubro will scale NVIDIA GPU clusters up to 30 megawatts (MW). These clusters will support high-density computing environments designed for artificial intelligence workloads. GPUs are essential for large-scale machine learning operations because they can process massive volumes of parallel data efficiently. Expanding GPU capacity to 30 MW ensures the facility can host large AI model training operations and support multiple users simultaneously, including startups, enterprises, and research institutions.
