Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) and NHPC Renewable Energy Limited (NHPC-REL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to install rooftop solar projects on government buildings across India under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. The initiative aims to achieve 100% solarisation of government-owned buildings by December 2025. The MoU was signed on July 17, 2024, at the NHPC Office Complex in Faridabad, with key signatories including Deepesh Nanda, CEO & MD of TPREL, and S.P. Rathour, CEO of NHPC-REL. The event was witnessed by notable officials such as R.P. Goyal, CMD, and R.K. Chaudhary, Director (Technical). NHPC Limited has been appointed by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) as a Scheme Implementing Partner (SIP) to execute the projects through its subsidiary, NHPC-REL, leveraging TPREL's expertise in solar energy.
