Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, distributed Honey Bee-Boxes and Toolkits to 130 beneficiaries under 'Gramodyog Vikas Yojna' of KVIC. The program aimed at generating employment opportunities in rural India. Over 2 lakh bee boxes and honey colonies have been distributed to farmers and beekeepers, enhancing income and creating employment. MP from North-East Delhi, Shri Manoj Tiwari, expressed intention to collaborate with KVIC to promote small-scale industries and generate employment. Distribution included Bee-Boxes, Bee-Colonies, Plumber Toolkits, Footwear Repairing Tool Kits, Leather Footwear Manufacturing Machine & Tool Kits. About KVIC The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) is a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament. In April 1957, it took over the work of former All India Khadi and Village Industries Board.  It functions under the Ministry of MSMEs. About 'Gramodyog Vikas Yojna' It was launched in March 2020. It is one of the two components of the Khadi Gramodyog Vikas Yojana which is a Central Sector Scheme (CSS). The other component of Khadi Gramodyog Vikas Yojana is the Khadi Vikas Yojana (KVY) which includes two new components such as Rozgar Yukt Gaon, Design House (DH) GVY aims to promote and develop the village industries through common facilities, technological modernization, training etc. Included Activities: Ø Agro-Based & Food Processing Industry (ABFPI) Ø Mineral-Based Industry (MBI) Ø Wellness & Cosmetics Industry (WCI) Ø Handmade Paper, Leather & Plastic Industry (HPLPI) Ø Rural Engineering & New Technology Industry (RENTI) Ø Service Industry
